This week in Nana’s Sewing Room

Nana is working on her “to-do” list. Wedding season is about to start, so Nana’s needle has to get busy. Just finished a lavender & camo garter set for a friend who is getting married this May. Not going to tell you who cause it is going to be surprise for her new hubby! Shush–help me keep the secret, ok?

My next project is a black satin & black lace garter set. This will be fun. This weekend I’m going to start looking for a special heart shaped rhinestone charm. I love working closely with my clients to design their items to match their dreams as close as possible. So much fun meeting all these happy couples. Some have become friends and are helping to spread the word about my services.

What else? Well Keepsakes by Nana is one of many proud Vermont wedding vendors participating in the Salute to Our Soldiers Wedding Giveaway. This is the 3rd year for this fine event and Nana has participated every year. Haven’t finalized what Nana is going to be creating for this military couple, but we’ll keep you posted.

This week’s photos showcase our latest garters and I’ll share pics from the Year 1 and 2 Salute Our Soldiers creations. See you next week. Off to start sewing.

This was a very special ring bearer pillow. It was dedicated to the bride's uncle who died serving our country. This uncle introduced the bride to his fellow soldier and the rest was history. Used military camo and the wooden charm has the couples initials on one side & the uncle's initial on the other side. The uncle's son proudly carried the pillow in his dad's memory.

This military couple meet after he was injured in Humvee accident & she was assigned to work on the damaged vehicle. She was curious how he could have survived & they started corresponding via facebook. She visited him in hospital & they fell in love. Their wedding theme was natural rustic--so birch fabric flower girl baskets & natural linen ring bearer pillow.

I love personalizing my items. The silver initials of the bride & groom were just perfect little touch. They even took a photo of their rings "hooked' on the charms!
